Marine Corp JROTC

Drill & Color Guard

Close order drill is a touchstone of the USMC. Cadets spend one day a week learning marine corps drill movements. The purpose of drill is to develop self discipline by learning to immediately respond to orders. It is the foundation of all other training and instills confidence and espirit de corps ( spirit of the corps ) in cadets. Cadets may choose to join the silent drill team. The silent drill team enjoys county wide acclaim for its precision and showmanship.

The Saint Albans Color Guard is the most visible symbol of the discipline, ability, and commitment of the JROTC. Sought by civic organizations, local and state government throughout the year, the Saint Albans Color Guard has become the color guard of choice in the community. The precision of the color guard rivals that of professional active duty color guards.
